Look At Me Being Serious!
I've known about this for a week now, but I had to be mum about it but silent no more! The LAMMY nominations have officially been announced on the latest episode of the LAMBcast (in which I'm on) and I'll go ahead and ruin one award nomination for you now:
I was NOT nominated Funniest Writer this year. I WAS nominated last year for Funniest Writer. I did NOT win, but I came in second. So this tells me one thing:
Since last year I've stopped being funny. Somewhere in the last year, I became a dead serious writer. I am now the LAMB equivilant to Ernest Hemingway. All I need is a turtleneck, some booze, and probably a gun or two. I always considered myself the Charles Bukowski of the LAMB, but apparently it was not meant to be.
So there will be some changes to Invasion of the B-Movies now that I'm considered "serious". 1-I will stop reviewing movies like "Peter Rottentail" and review movies like, I dunno, "Deep Passion" or "A Longing for Midnight", which might sound like pornos I'm aware but I'm told they're very serious movies. 2-I will change my name to fit my new serious role. Goodbye Jason Soto, Hello Lord Bosco Cunningham the Third! I'll make it a goal to get knighted within a year. 3-I will change the name of the website and the blog from "Invasion of the B-Movies" to "Totally Dead Serious Movie Reviews Of The Upmost Stature" 4-No more pictures of women's breasts. I won't even post pictures from the movies I review. Instead, I'll post pieces of art.
And finally, no more writing while drunk or "medicated". I will only write when I'm clear headed and instead of writing about what happens IN the movie, I will give a long flowery description on what I think the movie is trying to say. For example:
"One can say Humprey Bogart's character of Rick is one of unpolite stature, but this is certainly not true. If you peel back the layer that is his tuxedo, you'll find a sad soul, just dying to release his angrish on the world over the loss of Ilsa. He wants to very much go on a rampage and prove his love for her, but alas he cannot! O'THOU Rick! CRY UNTO THY HEAVENS!!!!!"
And that's it. So expect these changes to happen in the next few weeks...after I win Best Horror Blog.

LAMBCast 27: Doing O.P.P (Other People's Podcasts)
So I'm gonna tell you my side of what happened behind the scenes and during the recording of this episode of the LAMBcast. Then I want you to listen to it and find out why it's possibly my favorite episode yet.
So a few days before, Dylan/Fletch sends an email saying "I have an idea for a secret topic on the LAMBcast. If you want to join in, say so." I was curious so I said I was in only to see what the secret was. He told me that the episode was going to pay tribute to the five podcasts that were nominated for Best Podcast by doing a segment they do on their show or something. He gave detailed descriptions and what was gonna go down. I said "Sure, why not?"
Problem: The only podcast out of the bunch I ever listened to was "The Demented Encyclopedia". So I looked at the list and what Dylan wanted me to do and the only two I listened to were Film Cynics because "we had to talk like they talk" which I guess was radio-like and this guy name Univarn.
Listening to Univarn I discovered the following things:
1. He does a podcast by himself.
2. He talks to himself...a lot!
3. He likes sounding like farm animals
4. He tends to talk in a stream of consciencness so the episode I listened to he talked about walls and his squeaky chair and other stuff I don't remember.
So I had to do an imitation on this guy, while being movie related. So I quickly came up with a top three list of depressing movies to watch before killing yourself. Why not?
Besides the first segment where we had to answer five questions, I was pretty lost. I watched the wrong trailer (Why are there so many movies called "Bagman"?), apparently Simon and Jo talk 900 words per minute in vague English accents, and the Film Cynics are on the radio except...not? I dunno.
So anyway. That's things from my point of view. I hope you enjoy this episode. I really think it turned out awesome and extra bonus points to Dylan for an awesome editing job. (Speaking of, some things I said seemed to be edited out. I remember making a Joy Division reference that I didn't hear and I think I said "fuckin'" during the non-radio radio moment.) With that said, enjoy!

LAMBcast #17
In this one, me, Fletch, Nick, Mike, and Guy all talk about Foreign films. Apparently MY defintion of "foreign" is different from everyone elses but whatever. Despite that, this was a typical 'cast for us, but my list kicked ass.

PS: I'll link to everyone later, I'm posting this as I'm running out the door for work.

The LAMBcast #14: In Which I and Some Other Dudes Talk Remakes
In this episode, my expertise on all things crappy remakes was needed so I answered the high demand of my presence to be requested. That or I don't have a life and had nothing else to do. Anyway, Me, Fletch, Nick, Tom, and Travis talk about remakes, and a little bit about "The Crazies", which I couldn't think of anything to add. I wish Fletch wouldn't let me go last. Then again last time he made me go first, I sounded even stupider so go figure.
Anyway, enjoy.

LAMBcast #6
I did another LAMBcast with Fletch and Tom Clift. In this one we talked about Roland Emmerich and all of his movies, including 2012, which was tricky for me cause I haven't seen it yet.

Out of all the episodes I've done, this is probably my favorite. I didn't sound like a fuckin' moron and I kinda knew what I was talking about this time. Plus I won the "Last Man Standing" thing cause of my extensive John Cusack knowledge. Maybe it's cause I started drinking prior to recording. I dunno. Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

When Two Posts Become One
1. The new LAMBcast is up, where me, Mr. Fletch, and Tom Clift all talk about "The Room". I had fun recording this with them and I hope you have fun listening to it. Thankfully, I don't sound too much like a moron in this one, so yay for that. Give this a listen, ok doggie? Oh hi!

2. It's Sunday! Let's see how the participants are doing on the Great Invasion of the B Movies Scavanger Hunt!
In the lead is Rachael M. with 1050 points, because she was the first to create, then submit, a Wikipedia page on Invasion of the B Movies.
In second place is Maria with 95.
And tied for third is April, Fletch, and Scott from Bargain Bin Reviews for 50 points.
There's still time to join in the fun! Just email me saying you wanna do it and we'll do it...ew. Sorry for that phrasing.

Now You Can HEAR Me Ramble On About Nothing!
Last week, LAMB Master Fletch said I could join in on the latest episode of the LAMBcast and so I did, cause they needed a zombie expert. Thankfully, that guy wasn't available so they got me instead. Give it a listen!
