Jason's Weekly Round-Up #10

Number 10, baby!

Some Cool Ass Shit:
-Nolahn at The Bargin Bin Review: The Blog has a knack of finding weird and interesting shit. I have no idea how he does it. I think he sets up his Google Alerts for "weird and interesting shit", cause it's the only way you can learn about "Human Centipede: The Musical".

-I am completely fucking jealous that Rachel got to see "Rubber" before me. It's coming to Indianapolis...in like 2 weeks! Argh!

-Are you not an Apple Fanboy? Don't have the money for one of those new tablet things coming out (OMG guys, the Blackberry Tablet is fucking awesome! I got to try one for work before we're gonna sell it next week and I REALLY want one!) but you want to play cutting edge games? Well, don't tell anyone where learned that you can play an online version of "Angry Birds", ok? Ok.

-Good Times With Bad Movies reviewed "Troll 2". Anyone that reviews "Troll 2" is awesome in my book.

What I WILL Be Watching This Week:
This is my "off" week of reviewing movies, but I'm also going to be in L.A next week, so I get two "off" weeks! Wow! I'm not sure what I'm gonna watch yet but I do know I have at home from Netflix "Venture Brothers Season 3: Disc 2", "Better Off Dead" coming in from Netflix, and a couple of movies on Instant Watch I wanna see. We'll see how that plays out.

Not-That-Random Music Video:

And Finally:
In case you didn't pick up on it, next week, I'll be in Los Angeles, going over there to fuck shit up. The only concrete plans we have is we're going to a taping of "Conan" on Tuesday. So tune in to see if you can spot me doing something embarrassing. Unless they put me in the back. Anyway, I'll still have the "30 Days of Horror" posts going so you'll have something to read next week.

Until then, deuces!

Jason's Weekly Round Up #9

Some Cool Ass Shit:

-I was on this awesome podcast that posted on Friday. It's probably not only the best podcast I ever been on, but probably the best episode of any podcast ever. You really, really need to listen to this shit right here. For realz, yo.

-Matt over at "Chuck Norris Ate My Baby" is slowly becoming one of my favorite reviewers. The many ways he came up with alternate titles of "Eyes in the Dark" is just awesome.

-TheGreatWhiteDope's take on this movie called "Nights of Terror" is fantastic. Sorry the description is so short, I dunno what other words I could use. Awesome. Excellent. Very cool. Sure, those work.

-Go wish Rachel a happy 4th birthday! Well, she's not four, her blog is. Imagine a four year old running a movie blog. "YAY! I saw cartoon! YAY!!!"

Random Video:

And Finally:
A podcast heavy week for me. We're doing a Lair episode tomorrow, which should be out Thursday or Friday. Saturday, despite me not able to show up two weeks in a row, I am doing a LAMBcast, dammit! I get to talk about "Black Dynamite" with some cool peeps (Not sure who but I imagine they're cool peeps. If a non-cool peep made it on, I apologize ahead of time.) so that should be fun.

Dammit, how many times have I told you to never interrupt my kung fu!

Jason's Weekly Round-Up #8

Some Cool Ass Shit:
-I had a great idea for a post, but the topic doesn't fit here, so I sent it off to Blog Cabins and it got posted. There's only one comment, which is a movie quote, which just means I blew everyone's mind, man!

-TheGreatWhiteDope finally got around to reviewing "Manos: The Hands of Fate". I thought when you start a B-Movie blog, they hand you "Plan 9", "Manos", a T-Shirt with the zombie fighting a shark from "Zombi", and a unlimited supply of Mountain Dew. At least that's what I got in the mail the day after starting The Site. Hm, maybe there's something in the Dew...

-I was kinda psyched about seeing "Sucker Punch", then that wore off. Then some reviews started coming in and boy, is this a "You either love it or hate it" kind of movie. Rachel liked it. Reel Whore hated it. Nick loved it. Sebastian HATED it. So who do I listen to? I don't know. I guess I'll have to see for myself.

Movies I WILL Be Watching:
-I got a couple of movies I gotta watch for "The Lair".
-I completely forgot about the B-Movie Meatloaf for April, even though I picked the theme. I picked "Sequels/Direct-to-video sequels" and I chose to do "Cabin Fever 2", which, honestly, I'm not looking forward to. I didn't like the first one and honestly I can't see the sequel being any better. Why do I put myself in these situations?

A Random Video:

And finally:
I'm going out of town this weekend, so I won't be around to do weekend stuff. You'll just have to carry on without me. Rough, I know.

Jason's Weekly Round Up #7

If Michael Cera married a chick named Sara, her named would be Sara Cera.

Some Cool Ass Shit:
-My podcasting partner Nolahn was a guest on Nick's Podcast "The Demented Podcast" and Nolahn was awesome...until The Tower hit. Well, it wasn't entirely Nolahn's fault. Just listen.

-I saw "Paul" this past weekend and I fuckin' loved it. I don't normally cover new movies on the blog but if I did, and I was female, my review would be something like Jess' review.

-So apparently that Desert Island CD thing I did the other day was started by Castor over at...um...this site. Anyway, if you go there, you can read Castor's and other people's list.

-For the record, I never seen "Dr. Horrible's Sing A Long Blog" so I can't say I agree with his opinion or not but this is a pretty funny post, even if you disagree. And I'm sure a few of you will disagree.

-The Midnight Movie of the Week at "From Midnight, With Love" is "Evil Dead 2". Awesome!

Movies I WILL Watch This Week:
-So I owe the world a review since I didn't get one out last week. I'll have that up THIS Friday. I promise.
-I forget if I mentioned it last week but I'm gonna try to watch a movie called "Pieces", which sounds like a fun time.

Random Video:

And finally:
The first 30 people that comment to this post get the most awesome prize ever: A NEW POST NEXT WEEK! YAY!!

Jason's Weekly Round-Up #6

I'm Chuck Woolery and we'll be back in 2 and 2 to make a love connection!

Some Cool Ass Shit!
-Last week's episode of the LAMBcast is up, in which me, Nick, James, and some other dude who's name I can't remember all talk about what we been watching lately. As usual with these episodes, it was a lot of fun, even if the movies I talked about were a bit on the dark and grim side. Then there's Nick...

-Speaking of, James description of the LAMBcast is fuckin' hysterical. I think he should write the show notes from now on.

-I was exposed to this song just yesterday but TheGreatWhiteDope beat me to the punch to do a whole post about it. This is seriously the worst song, and music video, I have ever seen in a long, long, LOOOOOOONG ass time.

-Stallone has decided to drop out of directing "The Expendables 2". Matt over at "Chuck Norris Ate My Baby" tells us who he thinks the new director should be. He might have a point.

-Any post that mentions "Slither" gets a shout out from me. Rachel from "Rachel's Reel Reviews" tells us three reasons why she washes off in the back yard with the garden hose. (Note: This claim might not be 100% accurate.)

-Jess at "Insight Into Entertainment" mulls over trailers and how effective they are.

Movies I WILL Be Watching:
-This is the week I do a review for The Site so I have that going on.
-Thanks to a recommendation from another podcast I listen to, I got from Netflix "Pieces". From what I hear, it's a fun bad movie. We'll see.
-That's probably all I'm gonna have time for this week.

Random Video:

I'm probably gonna drop the picture thing and go with videos. It's all rainy and dreary here so this is a good rain song. Plus the video is amazing. Just missed my Top 15 favorite music videos list.

And Finally:
I'm not gonna be doing a video this week because I got too much going on. Work, recording an episode of The Lair, plus a review, it's a bit much for a fella. Thanks for understanding.

Jason's Weekly Round-Up #5

Do you think someone at a drinking straw plant, as a joke, licks certains straws before they get wrapped? Sleep tight!

-Dylan aka Fletch at "Blog Cabins" does a post every now and then where he picks a year and talk about his favorite five movies from that year. Me being the 90's geek I am, I was tickled pink when he went with 1996, a year I fondly remember. Oh I wish I was 16 again.

-Nick's podcast The Demented Podcast, reached 10 episodes and for the 10th episode, he had an all out Battle Royale with the 5 players who made it in the top five spot of his game The Demented Tower. The episode is probably my favorit episode of that show mainly cause you got cute Jess, awesome James, cool Tom, drunk Rachel, and...Hatter just going at it. So check it out!

-Did you know TheGreatWhiteDope had a web comic? No? WHA??? Well, catch up starting here and then check out the newest one!

-From Midnight, With Love did "Big Trouble in Little China". Need I say more?

-It was Nolahn's birthday this week! Wish him a happy birthday and check out his review of "Black Belt Jones"!

What I WILL Be Watching:
-Jackass 3/3-D comes out today. I'm probably gonna scurry over to Redbox and see if they have it.
-I'm gonna be doing a "Compare/Contrast" to a film title sometime this week. It's a popular movie from the 70's that got remade some years ago. There's also a sequel. Can you guess what it is?
-I still have the movies we'll be covering on The Lair to watch. Man, I'm a slacker.

Random Picture:

The great white buffalo....great white buffalo....

And Finally:
Spring is almost here! Yay!! I don't totally mind cold weather, it's all the fuckin' snow and ice I hate. So here's to no more of that shit!

Jason's Weekly Round-Up #4

There are at least three songs with Tuesday in the title. Can you name them? Can you name any more?

Some Cool Ass Shit:
-The GreatWhiteDope is mad as hell and he's not going to take it anymore!! If you like anything I do or say, then you should follow him cause really he's a smart and funnier version of me. Give him a chance, huh?

-The road to hell is paved with good intentions, which means a good chuck of Hell Road is made up of things I meant to do but never did. Final Girl does a Film Club every month (I wanted to do something similar but 1-I know no one would do it and 2-I would be totally stealing her idea) and I've done a few in the past. This month, she took on "Frozen" which I actually seen, own, and love. Why didn't I write a review of it? Well, it's kind of a funny story...

-OH MY FUCKING GOD "GOOD TIMES WITH BAD MOVIES" REVIEWED THANKSKILLING!! Sorry for the shouting! Just read his review and you'll understand why.

-What's even better than promoting an episode of a podcast where the subject is something I like? When said podcast reads my feedback. Yeah, I'm a vain asshole, you're just NOW figuring that out? Anyway, poor Jess over at Reel Insight must've drew the short straw and got to read my obsenity laden email where I proposed to Jess, schooled them on Nick Swardson, and begged them to do a Megan Fox episode. The rest of the episode is great too. (Second plug in two weeks? Congratulations, ladies!)

What I Plan On Watching This Week:
I didn't really watch any of the crap I said I would last week. One of my days off got cut and I had to work an extra shift. Am I a nurse? Am I a EMT? No...I WORK IN A FUCKING OFFICE SUPPLY STORE!! The hell, man? Anyway, between no free time and being tired, I didn't watch much of anything. So therefore this week:
-I'm gonna try to get to "Flash (AH AHH AHH AHH) Gordon" still.
-This is also the week I review a movie for the site. This week is "Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla"! I love this movie so this should be a fun review.
-I'll probably watch one of the movies for the next Lair episode. It's an episode I been wanting to do for awhile so I'm looking forward to it.

A Random Picture:

WHAT'S IN THE BOX????

And Finally:
Last week's Twitter Event on "Deadgirl" was pretty successful. Not only did a lot more people seem to follow me, but one of the movie's stars Jenny Spain followed me and responded to a few Tweets. Who's Jenny Spain? Why, she played THE titular Deadgirl! Y'know, it's weird communicating with a person who you seen naked on screen. I've done that a few times now and you never get use to it.

Not counting myself.

Jason's Weekly Round-Up #3

Wow, I've keep this up for 3 weeks in a row. That's some kind of record from me.

Some Cool-Ass Shit:
-The Reel Insight gals do a weekly podcast where they showcase an actor every week. This week, they focused on one funny motherfucker, named Adam Sandler. People give Adam Sandler a lot of shit cause he's a comedian, and they're mainly from people who don't seem to have a sense of humor or just hate comedies overall. You don't see me bitchin' about how awful Clark Gable or Marilyn Monroe is, do ya? Anyway, check out their episode here. Next episode, you guys need to do Zach Galafinakis.

-So not only am I doing a somewhat successful video/vlog series, I been guest spotting on Nick's "Random Ramblings of a Demented Doorvlog" where I played the villain. The finale was put up this Sunday where EVERYTHING is explained. And there's a shitload of guest stars, some who I "interact" with. Check that out here!

-Another podcast link! This time, it's for The LAMBcast! Me, Dylan, and Nick got together to talk about some Terry Gilliam movies. Twas fun!

-Ever wondered why "Transformers" keeps getting sequels despite it sucking so much Paris Hilton is like "Damn that thing sucks a lot. And I suck a lot. A lot of DICK!" (Yeah, my references are a bit outdated. Leave me alone.) Well, Cracked.com tells us some Hollywood secrets on why movies suck nowadays.

-I posted this video on my Facebook but no one reacted to it for some reason. Ever wonder what female DJ's will be like 50-60 years from now? Check this out!

Things I'm GOING To Watch:
-Speaking of LAMBcast, I gotta watch "This Is Spinal Tap" for a recording this Saturday. So I'll be doing that.
-I'm also gonna be watching "Flash (AH! AHHHHHHH!!) Gordon" this week. Sweet!
-Of course I'll be watching "Deadgirl", for the Twitter Event on Wednesday. I can't wait, honestly! I got some people interested in this one.

Update:
-I watched "Vulgar" and it's pretty good. It's like a male version of "The Accused", if written by Kevin Smith. (Kevin Smith didn't write or direct "Vulgar" but he has a small role in the movie cause all of his friends were in this movie.) It's an interesting walk.

A Random Picture:

I was doing a Google Image search for the Random Picture when for fun I thought I'd put my name to see what came. Some pics I posted either on the site or on the blog showed up, along with some stuff from other sites. Then I came across something that I wasn't aware existed. I guess I'll have to give some backstory first.
1. Sebastian appeared on some episodes of "The LAMBcast".
2. I hate "(500) Days of Summer".

That's all the back story you need. I guess "500 Days of Summer" (Fuck putting parentheses in places they don't belong, especially in movie titles) is his favorite movie or something and he got a bit offended when I said, on multiple occasions, how much I hated said movie. Someday I shall talk about ALL the reason why I hate said movie. But for now, let's enjoy a post titled "Jason Soto Can Suck It". It's probably my biggest achievement to date!

And Finally:
If YOU want to tell me to go suck it, email me at thelairunwanted@gmail.com so I can have Nolahn read it on air and make it sound funny. And really, any feedback on The Lair would be appreciated.

Jason's Tuesday Round-Up #2

Some Cool Ass Shit:
-Sometime last week (might have even been the weekend) I put up a Facebook status that said "Felicia (my fiancee) just came up with an awesome idea. We should go see the Justin Bieber movie and be loud and obnoxious like teenagers are during "our" movies." Everyone on my Friend's List loved this, including Simon over at The Simon and Jo Film Show, so much so they made me Blogger of the Week! You should check that shit out, they're really great guys with great movie discussion and it's all proper and British, gov'na! (I apologize for that last bit.)

-I love reviews that are different and the queen of great different reviews is Stacie Ponder at Final Girl. Her review of a movie called "Necrosis" is hilarious. Check it out.

-I unintentially influenced Nick to watch "Deadgirl", the next movie lined up for my Twitter Event. I didn't read the entire review cause I wanna go in as cold as possible and if you want to do the same thing, wait until after the 23rd to check this out. Everybody else, check out Nick's review.

-The LAMB's Devour The Oscar is marching on, despite my awesome article being posted 3 days into the event. But some other great posts have been coming in, including Univarn's take on Best Actor. If you liked my post, you'll love Univarn's.

-TheGreatWhiteDope over at TheGreatWhiteDope's Mecha-Blog-Zilla took on the Arnold classic "Commando". It's a shitty review. No...I LIED!

Things I'm GOING To Watch:
-I gotta cram in three movies this week. Thankfully, two of them I seen already. But we're recording The Lair this week and I wanna refresh my memory on both Lone Wolf McQuade and Breaker! Breaker! Then I'm also gonna be reviewing the Roger Corman produced "Fantastic Four" this Friday. Gosh, I'm gonna be a busy fella.
-Maybe I can squeeze this in somewhere but I heard about a movie called "Vulgar" starring Dante from "Clerks" and it's suppose to be fucked up. I don't know a whole lot about it going in and I kinda like going into movies like this cold.
UPDATE:
I did watch "Venture Brothers Season 3" and "The Bride of Frank". I didn't get to Cat's Eye or Catfish. I guess I wasn't in a cat mood.

A Random Picture:

People who buy these type of strollers have a special level of Hell waiting for them. A level of Hell where they try to walk somewhere but they can't get through because some big bulky annoying fucking thing is in the way. HEY! There are other people in the fucking store with you! Move your giant ass SUV-sized stroller!

And Finally:
The Grammys came and went and of course, I didn't know a lot of the songs/bands nominated. I did discover one song I heard on the radio that I liked but never knew the name of it. This band performed on the Grammys and it was pretty cool.

This has been Jason's Tuesday Round-Up!

Jason's Tuesday Round-up #1

A lot of other sites/blogs I visit seem to do some weekly round-up of stuff they like and things they've done that don't deserve a full post or whatever. I've had the idea in my head for awhile to do one but after visiting Univarn's site "Life in Equinox" I decided enough is enough and to just man up and do one of my own! It'll probably focus more on b-movies or mainly shit I've done, but when you come to Invasion of the B Movies, what else do you expect?

Some Cool Ass Shit!:
-It's Oscar time, which means the LAMB is all busy with it's "LAMB Devours The Oscars" (That doesn't sound right. I think an "s" doesn't belong somewhere. Whatever.) As usual I volunteered my services to write an essay about one of the awards and instead of Dylan or New LAMBmistress (Seriously Rach, get business cards that say that. You seen "American Psycho" I'm sure, you know how important those are) Rachael running it, Jess from "Insight Into Entertainment" is running it. Jess is cute as fuck and between me and you, she has a thing for me. So of course, she gave me the best award ever to talk about. And you can read my essay about that here!

-When Jorge from StrictlySplatter.com announced the theme for the B-Movie Meatloaf and it was "Japanese Horror", I was like "Fuck yeah! I get to do 'House' finally!" Then I get an email from my friend and podcasting partner Nolahn saying "I'm gonna do 'House'!!" and I said "FUUUUCK!!" So I had to settle for "One Missed Call". But now I'm kinda glad I didn't do it because Nolahn had a hard time putting it into words, and he's better at that shit than I am. Don't believe me? Check it out!

-This past Saturday, I was suppose to appear on The MILFcast but a crazy emergency prevented me from doing it and I had to cancel at the last minute. But somehow "I" still showed up. It's gotta be heard to be believed.

-Do you miss "Lost"? Do you like cliffhangers? Do you like watching one guy play several different characters? Then you should check out Nick's "Random Ramblings of a Demented DoorVlog", which tells an interesting story. And I might have a selfish reason for linking these.

-I wanted to see it anyway, but ABFL REALLY made me want to see "Piranha 3-D" and god damn it, I'm gonna do it soon!

Things I'm GOING To Be Watching:
People who do these weekly recap things tend to mention stuff they already watched. I decided to be different and list a few things I plan on watching. I'll report back if I did or not. Here we go.
-The Venture Brothers Season 3: Disc 1. I fucking love this show and the last episode of Season 2 ended in a cliffhanger of sorts, but I'm sure I figured it out. We'll see if I'm right.
-Stephen King's Cat's Eye. I haven't seen this movie in over 10 years but I remember loving the fuck out of it. Hopefully, my love for it won't change.
-The Bride of Frank. Roller derby is an interesting thing. Not just the sport itself, but being in the audience. There, you meet all sorts of people. I met this dude named Danny at one bout through my future sister-in-law and when he found out what I do, he got excited and told me about all sorts of movies that I've seen. (This was awhile ago so I forget what most of them were.) One movie he seemed to go on and on about was called "The Bride of Frank". He said it was Netflix and I need to see it NOW NOW NOW FUCKING NOW!! So I got it on Netflix, but due to time constrants and the fact Netflix raised their prices, I had to change the number of discs I can have out from 4 to 2. So I had to send "Bride of Frank" back. But not after I did....something...with it. *ahem* So maybe this week I'll get to this as well.
-I'm toying with the idea of watching "Catfish" even though I know the huge twist ending. I'm curious how it all plays out and if I can figure out if it's fake or not. Something tells me it's fake but who knows.

A Random Picture:

Finally:
-In case you forgot, I'm doing reviews every other week now, so there's no review for this week. Don't be sad! Next week though I'm doing the horribly rushed Roger Corman produced "Fantastic Four" movie from 1994. It should be motherfuckin' epic! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to down some Xanax with this beer.
-Jason
